In the 19th Century in America, hymn singing was a popular activity. From the wagon trains on the prairie to the freed slaves in the south, to the city slickers gathered around a piano in the parlours of their victorian townhouses, hymns were both spiritual nourishment and popular entertainment. Come to St. Catherine's Church and join your voice with everyone else to sing the golden oldies from the 19th and 20th centuries. The hymns are to be sung loudly and enthusiastically, which makes the throat long for refreshment, which will come in the form of "build-your-own ice cream sundaes."
