Unter dem Motto „Hamburger, Sauerkraut und Champagner“ präsentieren wir musikalische Leckerbissen der letzten 200 Jahre aus Frankreich, Deutschland und den USA. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei die Uraufführung einer Komposition des amerikanischen Komponisten Zachary Cairns. Der Text basiert auf Gedichten der berühmten amerikanischen Dichterin Sarah Teasdale. Cairns und Teasdale sind beide aus St. Louis, der amerikanischen Partnerstadt von Stuttgart. Die Aufführung umschließt auch Werke von Gabriel Fauré, Claude Debussy, Charles Ives und Kurt Weill, der sowohl in Deutschland, Frankreich als auch den USA Theatermusik komponierte. Das Event findet im Rahmen der „American Days 2018“ und der „Französischen Wochen 2018“ statt.

Under the title "Hamburger, Sauerkraut and Champagne", our program presents music highlights of the last two centuries from France, Germany and the United States. The program features the world premiere of a unique composition for voice, cello, flute and piano by the American composer Zachary Cairns, who set three poems written by the renowned American poet Sarah Teasdale. Both Cairns and Teasdale hail from St. Louis, the American sister city of Stuttgart. Works by the French composers Gabriel Fauré and Claude Debussy, the American composer Charles Ives and the world famous Kurt Weill, who worked as a composer in Germany, France and the United States complete the program. The event is part of both the ‘American Days 2018’ and the ‘Französische Wochen 2018’.
