Die Berthold Leibinger Stiftung fördert Projekte im Rahmen der Wissenschaft, der Kultur, der Kirche und des Sozialen. Die Wissenschaftsförderung der Berthold Leibinger Stiftung hat ihren Fokus auf der angewandten Lasertechnologie, alle zwei Jahre wird hier der Innovations- und Zukunftspreis für besondere Entwicklungen auf diesem Gebiet vergeben, außerdem Medizin und Technikgeschichte. Die Schwerpunkte im Fördergebiet Kultur liegen in den Bereichen Musik, Literatur und Geschichte. Seit 2014 vergibt die Stiftung jährlich den mit 20.000 € höchstdotierten deutschsprachigen Comicbuchpreis. Im kirchlichen Bereich unterstützt sie die Renovierung von Gotteshäusern und die Kirchenmusik. Im Sozialen fördert sie die Rehabilitation von Straffälligen sowie die Reintegration von Psychiatriepatienten und Wohnungslosen.

The Berthold Leibinger Stiftung fosters projects in science, culture, church, and social commitment. In science, the foundation focuses on applied laser technology, medicine, and the history of technology. Every other year it awards the Berthold Leibinger Innovationspreis as well as the Zukunftspreis for special developments related to laser technology. The focus in culture lies on music, literature, and history. Since 2014, the foundation awards the Comicbuchpreis, a prize for German language graphic novels (20.000 €). The Berthold Leibinger Stiftung helps to maintain and furnish buildings of religious communities. In the social realm, it supports the rehabilitation of misdemeanants, as well as the reintegration of psychiatry patients and homeless people.
